In conjunction with the Palaeontological Association and ParanoidFish Graphic Design EikonWorks is proud to announce the launch the Ask A Biologist website. Based on the idea and vision of Dr. David Hone, Ask A Biologist is a web resource aimed at schools and devoted to proving the base scientific information possible to school children. Ask A Biologist is a unqiue website that brings school children and their questions in direct contact with over 60 professional scientists in biology and palaeontology.
EikonWorks have just completed the most recent update of their emergency medical services location and dispatch system, GeOptica, for the Alberta Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society in Canada. The most recent version of GeOptica (1.5.0) contains the latest digital map data from DMTI Spatial and will be used by STARS in their Emergency Link Center in Calgary to assist with the location and
dispatch of emergency medical services covering the entire province of Alberta.
Version two of DinoBase is now complete. DinoBase represents one of the most comprehensive databases of dinosaurs on the Internet. It was developed by EikonWorks for the University of Bristol as a means of obtaining information on dinosaurs. EikonWorks not only developed the front end system that is available at the DinoBase website but also the underlying database structure on which it is supported and a large data entry system that allows the information contained in the system to be easily updated and edited as necessary.
Today we've placed the first (semi) complete version of our website online. As we've been comitted to other work over the last ten months, completion of the website is taking a long time. We hope that ultimately the website will form a portal
to information about the products and services EikonWorks offers.
